Linking Aadhaar with voter ID (Form 6B): voluntary, and how to do it
Linking Aadhaar with your voter ID is voluntary. It is done with Form 6B on voters.eci.gov.in or the Voter Helpline app (Aadhaar OTP), or through your BLO. You cannot be refused enrolment or removed from the roll only because you did not give Aadhaar. During Maharashtra’s SIR 2026, Aadhaar is also one of the accepted documents with Form 6.

How to link online (Form 6B)
- Open voters.eci.gov.in or the Voter Helpline app and log in with your mobile number.
- Choose Form 6B (“Aadhaar collection” / “Information of Aadhaar number”).
- Enter your EPIC (voter ID) number, state and assembly constituency.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and verify with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-registered mobile.
- Submit and save the reference number. Track it on the same portal.
If you do not want to link
Form 6B gives an option to state that you do not wish to provide Aadhaar and to give another document instead (for example passport, driving licence, PAN, bank passbook with photo, or government ID). Your enrolment stays valid either way.
Voter ID and SIR 2026 in Maharashtra
The Special Intensive Revision is a separate exercise from Form 6B. If your name is missing from the SIR draft roll, you need Form 6 with the declaration — not Form 6B. See SIR 2026: name missing.
