About this section
The free PAN–Aadhaar linking window has closed. Lakhs of PANs are still inoperative, which stops refunds and doubles TDS in many cases. This section explains each problem in plain language and links only to the official Income Tax Department and PAN service portals (Protean and UTIITSL).
Never pay an agent to “activate” your PAN. The only charge for linking is the ₹1,000 fee paid on incometax.gov.in’s e-Pay Tax page. PAN corrections have a small official fee paid on the Protean or UTIITSL website.
