Name missing from the Maharashtra SIR 2026 draft voter list? What to do before 12 October
If your name is not in the Maharashtra SIR 2026 draft electoral roll (published 31 August 2026), you have not lost your vote permanently. File Form 6 with the declaration form and one supporting document by 12 October 2026 (the Election Commission extended it from 30 September), online on voters.eci.gov.in / the Voter Helpline app or through your BLO. Why is my name missing from the draft roll?
In the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Booth Level Officers (BLOs) went door to door with pre-filled enumeration forms. A name was put in the draft roll only if the form was filled and collected. If your form was not collected — because you were away, had moved, or the BLO could not reach you — your name was left out of the draft.
Names left out are shown in the ASDD list: Absent, Shifted, Dead or Duplicate. Being in this list is not a final deletion. It means the Election Commission needs a claim from you before the final roll.
Step 1 — Check your name in the draft roll
- Open voters.eci.gov.in (or the Voter Helpline app) and choose “Search in Electoral Roll”. Search by EPIC (voter ID) number, by mobile number, or by name, age and district.
- You can also use the CEO Maharashtra website link “Search your name in Draft E-Roll of SIR-2026”, or download your part’s PDF from voters.eci.gov.in/download-eroll.
- If you are not found, check the ASDD list for your booth (published with the draft roll, and available with your BLO). It shows why your name was left out.
Step 2 — File Form 6 with the declaration
If your name is missing and you are eligible (Indian citizen, 18+ on the qualifying date, ordinarily living at that address):
- Online: log in at voters.eci.gov.in or the Voter Helpline app with your mobile number and choose Form 6 (new registration / inclusion).
- Fill your details exactly as in your documents. Upload a recent photo.
- Fill and upload the declaration form that is required during SIR.
- Upload one supporting document from the accepted list (see below).
- Submit by 12 October 2026 and save the reference number. Track it on the same portal.
- Offline: give the same forms to your BLO or at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and take an acknowledgement.
Do not wait till the last day. Portals slow down near deadlines. If you file online, keep a screenshot of the acknowledgement with the reference number.
Which documents are accepted?
Keep any one of these ready (check the declaration form for the exact list and conditions):
- Birth certificate
- Passport
- Class 10 (matriculation) or other education certificate with date of birth
- Permanent residence / domicile certificate
