Farmer ID (AgriStack) in Maharashtra: how to register, check status and fix a name mismatch
Farmer ID is a unique digital ID under the national AgriStack that links a farmer’s Aadhaar with land records (7/12). In Maharashtra, it is needed for new PM-Kisan registrations and increasingly for other farm schemes. Register free on mhfr.agristack.gov.in with Aadhaar OTP, or at a CSC / Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra. The most common problem is a name mismatch between Aadhaar and the 7/12 — fix it at the tehsil (talathi) office.

Common problems
| Problem | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Name in Aadhaar ≠ name in 7/12 | Spelling/initials differ | Get the 7/12 corrected at the tehsil (talathi), or correct Aadhaar if it is wrong |
| Land not found in search | Wrong survey/gat number or unmutated land | Check the 7/12 on the Mahabhumi portal; complete mutation (ferfar) if needed |
| OTP not received | Aadhaar mobile inactive | Update Aadhaar mobile, or register at a CSC with fingerprint |
| Joint land holding | Several owners on one 7/12 | Each owner registers with their own Aadhaar and share |
Farmer ID and PM-Kisan / Namo Shetkari
Farmer ID is required for new PM-Kisan registrations. Existing beneficiaries should keep their PM-Kisan e-KYC up to date as well — don’t assume Farmer ID replaces e-KYC. Namo Shetkari money follows PM-Kisan eligibility. See PM-Kisan & Namo Shetkari not received.
