How to change your address in Aadhaar online (with or without a document in your name)
You can change your Aadhaar address online on myAadhaar by uploading a valid proof of address in your name (such as a passport, bank passbook, electricity/water bill up to 3 months old, rent agreement or ration card). If you have no document in your name, use the Head of Family (HoF) option with a family member’s consent. You can also update it at any Aadhaar centre for ₹75.

Documents commonly accepted as proof of address
- Passport
- Bank or post office passbook / statement with photo and address
- Electricity, water, gas or telephone/broadband bill (not older than 3 months)

Update online with a document in your name
- Log in at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in with Aadhaar and OTP.
- Choose Update Aadhaar Online → Address.
- Enter the new address exactly as in the document, upload a clear scan (PDF/JPG) and review.
- Pay the fee shown and submit. Save the Service Request Number (SRN) and track it on myAadhaar.
No document in your name? Use Head of Family (HoF)
If documents are in your parent’s or spouse’s name, choose the HoF-based address update. Upload a proof of relationship (e.g. ration card, marriage certificate, passport showing the relation). The Head of Family approves the request with an OTP on their Aadhaar mobile within the time allowed.
